Visitors also generated over $38 million in state and local taxes, which helps reduce the financial burden on residents, saving the average household approximately $850 per year. These numbers clearly demonstrate the ongoing benefits of tourism in Valdosta.
On an individual level, overnight visitors spend an average of $532.95 per trip, reinforcing just how impactful each visit can be to the local economy. Those are dollars residents can see be put back into the community.
