How Tourism Can Support Hurricane Recovery

David DiSalvo, President & CEO of Visit Valdosta, was recently featured in the Valdosta Daily Times to explain how the economic impact of tourism can support the Lowndes County community as it re-builds from Hurricane Helene.  

As the fifth largest economic driver in the county, tourism generated $422.3 million in 2023 – a nearly 9% increase over 2022. This promising growth demonstrates that out-of-town visitors recognize our charming southern city as a go-to destination for family fun.
